Over twenty years of hands-on experience.

A former retail nursery manager and owner, I have also worked with a leading landscape materials yard to further my knowledge of soil complexities, mulch types and its functions, and decorative rock and its’ many applications.
Keeping it GREEN!
Our choices of lawn and landscaping represent our very own little slice of heaven here on earth.
We are the stewards of this land, and I believe that working to keep in tune with nature ultimately provides the greatest rewards: lower water use (and bills!), and a safer ‘chemical free’ environment for our loved ones are the proven result of these methods.
Services

Consultation service:

My most sought-after service; the home owner will usually prepare a list of questions, thoughts and or concerns and we will walk the grounds together answering these concerns. Remember, there are no stupid questions - only stupid people; those who don’t ask!

Landscape Design:

Many times folks will ask me to create a landscape plan. Using simple crayons and Manila paper…Ok, pencil (a sharp one) and graph paper I create simple, easy to follow plans. If the area to be planned is small enough, or the plan simple enough, it can be done on sight. If more complicated I will estimate the amount of time it may take to complete; smaller yards only an hour or two extra, the largest I’ve done in the past took eight hours. After completion I may email the finished plan, or if more complicated, a follow up visit may be preferred to cover any questions or discuss possible modifications. Plans will always come with a recommended plant list, including recommended plant sizes and if requested a source list. I always have an example of a previous plan with me.

Landscape Installation:

Often folks will ask “Ok, how much if YOU do it?” when presented with a completed design. Most of the time I will gracefully bow out and simply say “I’m afraid I don’t do landscaping anymore” and gladly pass along business cards for several companies that have full-time crews that can handle the job. On the odd occasion however, an individual project may offer the odd challenge or two that peaks my interest and I might be persuaded to direct a crew, but most of the time I don’t do the actual project.

Lawn and Landscape Services:

This is a new facet for me; but not new to me. I am offering my services, to provide a knowledgeable, experienced, ‘professional’ that will care for your lawn and landscape as if it where his very own (but with your money). On the information page of this web-site you will find a basic outline for a chemical free lawn and landscape program. I am happy to consult with folks in any regard of implementation of this program. And yes, I will do this for you! Whether we are talking about applying nematodes, compost tea, or simply fertilizer I can help. No, I don’t offer the standard mow-blow-n-go service, but more of a step-up care package. A simple question I will happily answer over the phone, but more detailed consultations should require an appointment. Fees for these consultations may be applied in all or part to any agreed maintenance program. Fees vary depending on service, frequency of service, and travel time if out in the county.

FAQ’s

-Can you provide references?
    - I'll start each consultation by handing you a list of previous customers
.

-Why do you charge a fee for consulting and planning when others offer the same for free?
-I believe that one gets what one pays for; Folks are more in tune with service paid for than those offered freely. I’m not ‘selling’ anything other than my thoughts and ideas; it is these themselves that I believe are the true value.
